About Lisa Latta Racing
Horses have been close to Lisa’s heart from a very young age and by the age of five she had learned to ride her first pony. Throughout her childhood and teen years, she was either hunting, competing in one day events or show jumping. At 14 she became the youngest ever person in New Zealand to be ranked in the top 10 for Barrel racing and at 16 Lisa was a New Zealand Champion Barrel Racer.
In 2013/14, Lisa became the first solo woman trainer to claim the New Zealand Trainers Premiership, saddling 87 winners. Her success is obvious in New Zealand with almost every big feature race in the country you will find at least one galloper in her famous purple colours.
Lisa’s main stable is situated at the Awapuni Racecourse, in Palmerston North. She is nicely located in the Central Districts and can travel to all parts of the North Island freely, enabling her to place her horses for the right races. Her stable facilities are of the highest quality and her horses thrive in the environment.
